Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is a leading cause of cancer-related death, and new prognostic biomarkers are urgently needed. Apoptosis-stimulating P53-binding protein 1 (ASSP1) and 2 (ASPP2) have been reported to play important role in the development, progression, metastasis, and prognosis of cancers. The cover art shows the immunohistochemical staining of ASPP1 and ASPP2 in ESCC. ASPP1 is primarily expressed in the cytoplasm and is strongly positive in noncancerous tissues and ESCC. ASPP2 is primarily expressed in the perinuclear region and is moderately positive in noncancerous tissues while strongly positive in ESCC. For more details, please read the article on pates 71-80.
